The entrance fee to Amboseli national park in Kenya is categorized in citizens, residents and non-residents. This park is the third most popular park in Kenya outside of a town with an annual visitation of 55,000 as of 2020. The park have one of the most friendly park entrance fees as compared to other parks, even though it is referred to as a premium park.

The Kenyan residents are now charged the same park entrance fee as Kenyan citizens while visiting any of Kenya’s national parks. Their rate is quite affordable to cultivate a culture of domestic tourism where locals are encouraged to visit through price differentiation.

Amboseli National Park Camping Fees

Amboseli offers great opportunities for camping within the national park. This a great campsite near the Kimana gate and it offers great views of the Kilimanjaro. The views of this mountain at dawn and at dusk are very clear and one is able to take very good pictures.

The Amboseli public campsite is located some 200m from the park headquarters and it has a capacity to host 60 persons.

You can pay the camping fees and use this campsite to pitch your tent and gear. They have supplied cold water and a toilet. The water is not heated however and besides the morning shock from the cold water, it is a welcome relief when you are right from a game drive.

How to Pay For Park Entrance, Activities, Camping In Amboseli National Park

The Kenya Wildlife Service has recently changed its modes of payment from Mpesa and credit card payment to a new online system called E-citizen. The process is in its initial implementation phase and facing a lot of process challenges.

To pay for your park fees to Amboseli national park, you are advised to do it in advance by singing up to an ecitizen account and then using mpesa to make payment.
